Contains a canon at the unison between the two top parts. Note by Mick Swithinbank. The title and opening words are ungrammatical, and should read 'Dixit Dominus Petro'. This is a paraphrase of 'Dixit Dominus ei' in John 21. 19. Otherwise the text is more or less faithfully quoted from John 21. 19-22, although in 'qui tradet ter', the last word would normally read 'te'. 'Ter' is not wholly impossible, given Peter's threefold denial, but does not appear in John's text.
