He was a prodigy, being discovered to possess perfect pitch at the age of two, learning to read and write at the age of three, composing his first little piano piece at the age of four. it is now kept in the Bibliotheque Nationale de France. , peforming in his first public concert at the age of five. accompanying a Beethoven violin sonata. , and even gaining mastery of some Latin by the age of seven.
