So, here is a piece that uses groups of seconds and thirds in contrary motion, in 5. 4 time, and, moving via both tonal and jump-shift modulations, to several key centers. The harmony is bright and cheerful, rather than dark or mordant. The melody is simply the first note in each measure of the treble. The chords eventually turn into arpeggiated or rolled sonorities.
