Оригинал

Jacob Gade's classic arranged for piano duet. four hands. by conductor Esther Bobrova Lange. FROM THE PREFACE.. It is a common misconception that ”Tango Jalousie”. Tango Tsigane. was written for the movie, ”Don Q”. The piece was also played at the movie premiere in Paladsteatret on September 14th 1925, but there was no jealousy-based drama in the movie. Nonetheless, the melody was well suited to the Zorro legend in a Mexican setting. But in the book “Jacob Gade – et eventyr i musik”. a fairytale in music. by Jørgen Gram Christensen, one learns that in a 1956 interview, Jacob Gade recounted the incident in 1925, which concerned him very much. “One day the magazines featured a dramatic description of a jealousy-based murder and the word “jealousy” stood for me as a title with which the music became more and more attached. There are many different arrangements of “Tango Jalousie”, but I have always found that there was a need for a piano four hands version of this wonderful piece. In the process of working out a piano four hands version, I used the full orchestra score and made sure that the most essential orchestra parts were included. Also, the melody parts and accompaniment are equally distributed between the primo and secondo parts. Esther Bobrova Lange. conductor.
