It was written while enjoying the twilight view from my 18th floor flat in London, imagining all the people down below saying goodnight to each other in many languages. The song then became part of suites for recorder orchestra and chamber orchestra, also available on this site under the title "Landscape before sunrise" The sound sample is my own performance.
